We are a family-run business focused on providing reasonably priced, value-for-money accommodation and family-friendly, child-orientated nature activities.

Ashley – Guide and Conservationist

Ashley is a born and bred, laid-back South African, who is a true conservationist at heart. What he doesn’t know about life in the South African bush isn’t worth knowing! With a wealth of academic, vocational, and practical natural science qualifications, Ashley has an extensive knowledge base and many personal experiences that he loves to share. Ashley is a dedicated family man and passionate about his children fostering a love of wildlife like himself. He can generally be found out and about! Either in the bushveld or at the beach with at least one of his three little bush babies in tow!

Katie – Admin and Organiser

Katie is British by birth but South African by choice! Having left a successful career behind as a Specialist Child Health Nurse in the UK, Katie now spends her days running The Little Bush Baby Company’s administration. All whilst raising 3 semi-feral, nature-curious, children!

Ashley and Katie realized their shared dream of educating children about the natural world when they met on a local Big 5 game reserve in 2012. This is at the core of their family life. Days are spent on game drives, saving disorientated dung beetles and rehoming lost geckos within their family home. Meaning life is certainly never dull!
